How do they work?
- When dropped into water, the tablet dissolves and releases a dissolved oxidizing gas (ActiGas®).
- This gas penetrates microbial cell membranes—including bacteria, viruses, spores, molds, and algae—and neutralizes them from within.
- After doing its job, the gas evaporates, leaving water free from chemicals, odors, or pH concerns. It also reduces heavy metals like iron and manganese .
Usage & Effectiveness:
1 tablet depending on the tank size (approx.)—e.g. :
1000 L variant treats 1,000 L/wk,
2500 L variant treats ~2,500 L/wk,
5000 L variant treats ~5,000 L/wk, etc.
Packs typically contain multiple tablets (e.g. 8 per pack), lasting around two months for weekly usage .
Results in 20 minutes or less, depending on water turbidity .
Advantages over traditional chlorine or UV:
- No chlorine smell or taste.
- Works across all pH ranges, zero pH testing required.
- Maintains clean plumbing and eliminates slime buildup.
- Reduces need for UV/back-up systems by providing residual sanitizing action.
- Leaves no harmful byproducts in the water.
What it doesn’t do:
Does not filter out solids, insects, or non-chemical debris—pre-filtration with mesh or sediment filters may be needed.
Not intended for desalination, softening (no calcium or salt removal), or chemical contaminant removal—RO or other treatments may be required for those.
Before use:
For borehole water or other uncertain sources, a lab water analysis is recommended to check for chemical contaminants.
Combining OxyAzur® with filters or UV provides layered protection, especially in high-usage or drinking-water scenarios .
